Polaris Site Manager
- Duties include:analyzing customer issues with the Polaris integrated library system application; determine and implement solutions, while maintaining detailed documentation for the problem and its resolution in the call tracking system; building relationship with the customer's primary contact; and formulating detailed plans for site's upgrade plans.
- Applicants must show a strong commitment to service, as well as have proven problem-solving skills.
- Background must include knowledge of the MARC standard and skills with Microsoft Transact-SQL.
- MLS degree, either completed or in-progress, is required.
- Previous experience working with ILS data is highly preferred, as is previous work experience (1-3 years) in a library.
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Polaris Implementation Manager
- Duties include: serving as the project manager and team leader for multiple simultaneous contract implementations at public, academic, and special libraries primarily located through the United States and Canada; working directly with customers to establish policy and profile settings required to configure Polaris workflows to satisfy the needs of each customer.
- Applicants must show a demonstrated ability to work on multiple long-term projects simultaneously and at various stages of completion, and have proven project management and/or staff management experience.
- Background must include an understanding of the MARC standard for bibliographic data.
- MLS or related degree, or demonstrated equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum of 3 years previous working experience with integrated library systems is required.
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and be able to travel on assignments ranging from 1-5 days on a periodic basis.
Account Manager (Sales)
- Duties include formulating strategy, developing proposals, and closing new sales for the Polaris Integrated Library System.
- Key attributes of the successful candidate are initiative and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-selling environment.
- MLS preferred. A minimum of 3 years experience in consultative relationship selling required. Outstanding presentation skills also required. Previous ILS vendor experience highly desirable. Must be available for travel to conferences and library sites.
- Excellent base salary and commission structure.
- Residency in Syracuse area not required.
- Duties include helping to develop and maintain a highly configurable enterprise level, client/server system. Developers have the flexibility to work on the user interface, business logic, and database. Corporate focus on customer satisfaction occasionally requires interaction with customer support staff and clients to analyze and solve problems.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science and minimum 2 years' experience programming with Visual C++ and Visual C# using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 required. Experience also required with Microsoft SQL Server and MFC, ATL, Win32 APIs, Web Services and .NET Framework v2.0.
