"It's great to be able to customize the Polaris checkout screen with patron data elements of our choice. It maximizes the efficiency of the checkout process. And with 15 agencies circulating over 7.1 million items per year, it matters."

- Eva Calcagno, Manager, Washington County Cooperative Library Services, Oregon

The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC) Selects Polaris ILS
One of North America's Largest Consortia

Syracuse, NY, May 13, 2008 - Polaris Library Systems, a leading provider of library automation technology, announced today that The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC) has selected the Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS) to replace the consortium?s SirsiDynix system.

TRAC, located in Alberta, Canada, is comprised of four regional library systems - Marigold Library System, Northern Lights Library System, Yellowhead Regional Library and Peace Library System. There are 160 libraries within the consortium. The consortium is predominately comprised of public libraries, but also includes primary and secondary school libraries.

"We are looking forward to migrating to the Polaris ILS," said Clive Maishment, President, TRAC Society. "The system will enable us to provide enhanced service offerings to our patrons, including automated search alerts, RSS feeds, book and DVD/CD jacket covers, and a state-of-the-art public access catalog. In addition, the system?s inherent design and strong reporting tools will enable us to better manage our libraries and streamline our workflow."

"Polaris is looking forward to a strong partnership with TRAC," said William Schickling, president and CEO of Polaris Library Systems. "The Polaris ILS is specifically designed to support the consortial environment and is well positioned to meet the needs of the TRAC libraries today and into the future."
