“It's great to be able to customize the Polaris checkout screen with patron data elements of our choice.  It maximizes the efficiency of the checkout process.  And with 15 agencies circulating over 7.1 million items per year, it matters.”

- Eva Calcagno, Manager, Washington County Cooperative Library Services, Oregon

Yuba Community College District in California Selects the Polaris ILS

Syracuse, NY, September 23, 2010 - Polaris Library Systems, a leading provider of library automation technology, announced today that Yuba Community College District in California selected the Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS). Yuba Community College District includes Yuba College, Woodland Community College, and Clear Lake Campus. The Polaris ILS will be hosted and will replace the library's SirsiDynix Symphony system.

"After looking at several systems, it was clear that Polaris had everything we were looking for," said Dena Martin, Woodland Community College Librarian. "Competitive hosted pricing, user-friendly interfaces for patrons and staff, all the modules we need to run our academic libraries, and a strong focus on customer service were all important qualities that drew us to Polaris."

The Yuba Community College District spans eight counties and nearly 4,200 square miles in rural, north-central California. It has colleges in Marysville and Woodland, an educational center in Clear Lake, and will be adding outreach facilities in Sutter and Colusa counties as part of the Measure J facilities bond.

"The Yuba Community College District libraries play an integral role in campus life and in the ongoing educational and research needs of students and faculty," said Polaris President & CEO Bill Schickling. "We are thrilled that Polaris was their top choice when looking for an automation partner."
