With Polaris Fusion, your patrons are able to search for all types of digital items, including photographs, videos, Word documents and more, right from the Polaris PowerPAC. They can view, read, or listen to the material simply by clicking on one of the enriched data links. Digital records also include a thumbnail image or representation of the media and detailed descriptions of the digital item using public note fields.
Polaris Fusion enables you to expose your digital content to Web crawlers like Google, making your digital assets widely available to individuals outside your community.
Optional access control list and authentication management features allow you to secure your content and make items available only to specific patrons, groups, or locations. This functionality includes an e-commerce component that allows end users to purchase and download copies of digital media.
Polaris Fusion is a stand-alone product that integrates exclusively with the Polaris PowerPac. It comes standard with the ability to attach an unlimited number of digital files to a bibliographic record. All records are cataloged in MARC format and are managed through an easy-to-use Web interface. Libraries also have the ability to import records in Dublin Core.
