ILS System
System Administration
The Polaris ILS is controlled largely by settings in the System Administration subsystem. Using a standard Windows user interface, the library’s ILS administrator can control thousands of permutations about how the library’s policies and practices are exposed and managed. During the ILS implementation phase, the library staff and a Polaris implementation manager work together to define the settings based on the library’s needs. Going forward, the ILS Administrator adjusts these settings, generally without relying on the counsel of Polaris staff.
